Three days of rain

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

This bank holiday I was mostly painting in:

Okami (PS2, excellent game)

Okami

Bathroom (Real life, I strongly dislike DIY and everything it stands for)

Bathroom

At least the end results look good, despite my best efforts to get paint in all the wrong places.

How was your bank holiday weekend? Filled with wind, rain and the mundane, or exciting like in Hollyoaks, perhaps with some emotional trauma on the side?

Starcraft 2. Delighted to, Sir!

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Blizzard, purveyors of the finest videogame crack, have announced Starcraft 2. I know this news is about a week old but I’m still in the early stages of excitement, even though it looks the same as the first one with new graphics and units. I suppose you could say that about every “real-time strategy” game though, it’s just different graphics and units.

Given Blizzard’s track record I don’t expect to see anything for at least a year, they like to get things right. In the meantime I’ll be saving up for a computer that can run Starcraft 2. The Mac Mini just doesn’t cut it as a gaming platform (although it can run Starcraft, Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 just fine).

I would like to think that the #236 audience (both of you) played and enjoyed the first Starcraft, so what do we think about Starcraft 2 so far?

Starcraft II

OMG Zerg rush kekekeke!!! ^_^

#236’s new clothes

Behold, a fresh blog design. It has stunning new features such as a drop shadow and a gradient.

I am currently off sick from work. The special thing about it is being able to buy my Lemsip from Morrissons at ten past nine in the morning when there are more staff than customers in the store.

From now on, I want to do all my shopping first thing in the morning, so I have devised three options to achieve this insignificant goal:

  1. Retire
  2. Train as a professional benefit claimer
  3. Become a house-husband

I think you’ll agree that these plans all stink. If you’ve any better suggestions, please leave them in the comments.

Blogtipping: Mr Biffo’s Blog

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Apparently Blogtipping has nothing to do with pushing blogs over while they sleep. It’s actually a made up thing where I recommend another blog to you, the humble reader.

On with the show. This recommendation goes to Mr Biffo’s Blog, the internet home of Paul Rose, aka Mr Biffo. He has written for a bunch of TV programmes that I’ve never seen, more importantly he used to write for Digitiser on Teletext, a feature that bought me years of joy. Here is the Wikipedia entry on Digitiser.

Mr Biffo’s Blog doesn’t adhere to a specific topic, this matters not to me as I follow it for his entertaining written style. Recently it’s mostly been promoting his book “Confessions of a Chatroom Freak“, which I have dutifully ordered. Before that it was plugging his TV pilot for Biffovision, I wasn’t very keen on that except for Scranton-K.

That is all. This “blogtipping” lark feels a lot like brown-tonguing, I’ll be back when I’ve cleaned my teeth. Sorry about all the links, look at them as further reading for when you’re bored at work / home / prison.

Footnotes: In the hall of made-up-words fame, blogtipping is no rungleflot. I quite fancy a pair of these:
